Presenting these performances on compact disc has been a labour of love.  Every endeavour has been made (with available resources) to extract the best quality sound possible from the source recordings so that the performances can be enjoyed with the minimum of distractions.
The performances themselves are available free.
They are offered to bona-fide collectors of live opera. The charge made is for materials and the intensive labour involved.  I hope that you find the effort has been worthwhile.
Each recording has been digitally remastered, in many cases from first or second generation source recordings.  They are not mere copies of a copy. Each has been carefully edited to minimise distractions and to provide an enjoyable listening experience.
None of the recordings is excruciating in sound quality and in the majority of cases, is very good indeed.
Each recording comes with tray cards, inserts, and names of tracks.
You don't have to guess what is playing and who is singing.
The quality of the artwork is obvious from the pages of this website.
Multi disc sets are cased in jewel boxes - again with adequate documentation.    However, do not expect notes and a libretto.  If this material interests you, I assume that you will have a commercial recording of the piece.  Probably more than one!  Or two!
You may have a rare recording that you would like
mastered to compact disc but do not possess the skills or equipment to do so.  Celestial Audio can carry out this task for you at a very reasonable rate.  Apart from the complete operas listed in this catalogue I have remastered treasured family recordings made on disc and breathed new life into them.  If you have a project in mind contact me by email with the details and I will assess its viability and let you know what it may cost.  Originals may be on disc, cassette or  open reel.        (Australia only)
